On Nov. 17 takes place at Mundaneum in Mons a conference by Frédéric Kaplan, from Sony CSL, on what makes the researchers in robotics dream. In the context of the exhibition “Jules Verne: savoir rêver, savoirs rêvés” (rêve = dream and savoir = knowledge). Interactive Media Art Lab imal’s Yves Bernard is organising a session on real-time interaction installations / performances and he invited Alok Nandi to be one of the speakers, with Thierry Coduys | la Kitchen and Yacine Ait Kaci | Electronic Shadow. It will take place on Monday 17th October in Le Fresnoy, Studio National d’Arts Contemporains. imal is also organising in November a residence of Open Lab Projects and Yves Bernard proposed Alok Nandi to be part of the selection committee. Looking forward to interesting conversations and bravo to imal for giving a name and a place to new media in Belgium …

Jules Verne exhibition design

Jules Verne: savoir rêver, savoirs rêvés
Opening today of the exhibition I have been designing (scénographie) on Jules Verne, for the Mundaneum in Mons, as well as launch of the catalogue in which I have contributed a text: “Avatars et autres extensions”.

The exhibition will run from October 7th to March 24th, 2006.
Several conferences are planned: Christian De Duve (Medecine Nobel Prize), Frédéric Kaplan (Sony Computer Lab, Paris), …
On March 16th 2006, Louis Bec, zoosystémicien, and I will be giving a conference: “Avatars et fabrique du du vivant”.
